BFG Radial T/A

I love these tires for my 1970 Pontiac GTO Judge... The first set I had lasted 20 years then realized after a flat the date code on them.. This last pair was 16 years old and they were mint. wore great but due to safety I changed them out once again.. I drive my GTO only in the summer now but still These are the best I have come across Thank you

Tire Letters turned brown

I've owned a dozen sets of Radial TA's. The last two sets I bought, the letters turned brown and nothing I used to clean them would bring them back white again. I finally resorted to taking my grinder with 160 grit paper and sanding the top layer off. It worked. Back to white

Brown Letters

My 155-80r15s are one month old. I bought them specifically because I like the bright contrast of the raised letter look. They began to turn brown immediately upon washing off the "blue". I have noticed other T/A radials that look similar, but I have noted some older ones that are brilliant white. Even some older T/A All Terrains that looked perfect. Lots of your people trying lots of different things but I am not sensing a permanent solution. I can't imagine Michelin messing with the compounding formula. How can they allow this to go on? They certainly know about it! It seems to me to be a QC/QA issue. And I am worried about what one commenter said, that they got to the point of a permanent stain he could not correct! I've tried old formula bleach-white, acetone, lacquer thinner and turpentine. I've put carabuna wax over the "GOOD" in Goodrich to see if it makes any difference. Nothing so far has worked perfectly. They are never brilliant white and they always revert. All I can do is spread the work among collectors to stay away from these tires and encourage Cooker to come up with a BFG equivalent that gives you what you pay for. On a low mileage collector car I am now stuck with these for years cleaning them letter by letter prior to showings. Good luck.

Great tires in hard to find sizes

Quiet, wear well, available in hard to find muscle car sizes. I look around and always end up buying BFG Radial T/As. Great bang for the buck. Use Comet, water and a brush to clean raised white letters.

2nd set Classic TA's and not happy, RWL turning brown

I've run these tires on my 67 Camaro show car for 40 year and the last 2 sets have me too embarrassed to take it to a car show. The RWL turn brown and you cannot clean them. No product has worked. BFG knows they have a problem with them and fails to correct it. Buyer BEWARE!!

Beware......

Purchased 4 BFG Radial T/A's in September of 2016. In 6 months and less than 250 miles the RWL's have begun turning brown. I am embarrassed to display my '66 Chevelle. If you just want black wall tires then by all means buy them but if you want RWL's showing shop some other tire brand.

Great tire for your classic car

I have owned many sets of these tire over the years. Getting ready to buy another set for my dad's 66 Chevelle that he restoring. He has owned this car for 47 years. It was his high school transportation, he and my mom dated in this car, it was a drag race car all of my childhood, now its being restored to almost original glory. Only the best parts have been used during the rebuild, so why would we choose any other tire. BFGoodrich Radial T/A is the best tire available for a muscle car! Thanks for a great tire time and time again. *On a small note to the other reviews in regards to the browning of the letters. It's seems the complaint is only about the rear tires, which makes perfect sense. Doing burn outs will cause this to happen.

255-60-15 Radial TA tires

AAR Cuda classic car. Mounted 235-60-15 Radial TA tires on front, 255-60-15 tires on rear. Vehicle is still garaged and has yet to be driven and the raised white lettering has turned a tan color on the 255-60-15 tires. The raised white letters on 235-60-15 tires have remained white. very disappointing BFG! I am rethinking putting them on my '85 El Camino. Otherwise I have used Radial TA's many times in the past and have always been pleased with them. I will recommend them with caution now. Do you have any recommendations to help me fix this problem ?

LOVE THE SOLID WHITE LETTERS

Love the classic tread pattern. And the solid white letters are awesome. The tire rides great and the white letters look great on the classic ford. We went with the 275/60R15. Love the Tire , Ride,& look.

Same Problem With Keeping Letters White

I have had the same experience with these tires as Dandy Dan. The letters turn brown, and there is nothing that I can do to clean them back to white; not even the best whitewall cleaner on the market will work. I have put these tires on three classic cars (which are driven sparingly), and the same result on each. Good tires otherwise, but I bought them for the raised white letters which are hard to come by these days.
