Terrible choice by Jeep

Came on my Jeep JT Texas Trail. I have 13,000 miles and cannot wait until they wear out. Road noise is horrible, driver front sounds as if part of the tread is worn more than the rest. Does not handle well cornering on wet pavement. Probably a good tire for off road, but not daily drive. I will perform a 5 wheel rotation this weekend to get the front left into the spare position.

Fantastic Tire

I purchased the 235/85R16 Mud Terrain KM2's for my 1960 F100 4X4 restoration. They are mounted on stock style 16X6 steel rims. I was going for a stock looking, tall and skinny, aggressive tire without going with a reproduction bias ply tire. These tires worked perfect. The lugs wrap slightly over the shoulder of the tire without all the "jazzy" crummy looking sidewall designs that most modern tires seem to be dressed up with. The tires were not overly loud on the highway. They tracked straight and rode smooth. I took the truck out in a muddy field and tested the 4-wheel drive. The mud was upwards of 6" deep and there was no problem with grip. I stopped multiple times and drove both forwards and backwards with the tires gripping and getting me moving easily. my only fault with them is that there isn't a blackwall only option which may have saved me a little bit of money.

Do not buy these tires

I have had these tires less than two years and they are showing sings of age such as cracking near the rim/bead. They look like a set of tires that are more like 8 years old that are dried out and cracking. They wear terrible despite constant rotation and proper alignment. The tire tread is still good (Less than 2 years old with barely any miles) other than uneven wear and chunking of the tread. This is my daily driver and I feel like I already need to start looking for another set of tires for safety reasons alone.

So good I bought them again

Considering the tire design. I rate this tire very high. The braking could be better, but so could the brakes on my Jeep (working on that now). I've got to have about 60K miles on these. They are pretty bald and one tire has 5 nails in it. I run them in a 33" and just picked up a set of 35's. If your vehicle mainly a grocery getter and weekend warrior. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend these. I would say the tire gets louder when they are about 50% worn.

This is my tire.

Until BFG replaces the KM2, the KM2 is my tire. I just installed my second set of 255/85R16s on my 1991 Range Rover Hunter. I did not have a single problem with my first set. I simply wore them out. No side wall splits, no flats, no blow outs. People always try and skimp on tires. I have no idea why. They have to spend their free time changing flats, going to the tire store, waiting in line or waiting for a tire to come in to stock. Spend the money on a good set of tires and don't worry about anything other than routing tire pressure checks and balancing.

Tread has seperated on 2 out of 4 tires

Thank god I wasn't pulling a load at 80mph. The belts just seperated one day while sitting in the driveway. The first one was quite visible as the entire top of the tire came apart and went flat.(belts just seperated) The second tire I didn't notice until I put the spare on and started driving to the tire store. It had ballooned and was just short of coming apart. The tires have less than 15K on them and they are coming apart. Problem is how to get the tire dealer to provide warranty on the other 2 tires since they have not bulged YET.(I can't trust them now that 2 out 4 have let go) I wish I could post pictures.

KM2 Mud Terrains Kick Butt

Recently purchased 4 KM2 Mud Terrain tires 35X12.5. They were the replacement set for my BFG All Terrains, got 42,000 miles out of that set on my 2004 1500 Dodge Ram, also have an 83 Jeep CJ-5 running 32X11.5 BFG All Terrains. So got some experience with BFG products. The KM2'S were installed on a Thursday and Saterday my 16 year old and I headed out with our ATV and Dirt Bike loaded on a trailer with caming gear and all the essensials for a weekend of dirt riding. Bad rain headed out at 5:00 am in a driving rain, wipers on high about 50 miles into our journey rain stopped, tires were flawless on asphault under these conditions. Now the real test Checked in at ATV park, driving through very wet red clay mud loaded down with trailer, bikes, caming gear ect. in 4WD High, no slip or slide and this was some thick stuff after an all night monsoon! I will never buy anything but BFG tires ever again. Keep up the outstanding work!!! Thank You
