They deserve ZERO star! I regret not reading reviews before visiting the Midas on Albert street. They are shady and will try to get money out of you. Went in for an inspection and this dude Jarrod Callan failed my car which has never failed an inspection for only one thing he said - Alignment! And proceeded price me for parts - Camber, alignment, brakes and some other crap I know to be a LIE! They were going to make me spend close to $2000 just for a simple inspection that has consistently passed for 3 years. Reading the several negative reviews, it now makes sense to me. He told me I have to come back there to fix the Alignment, I am NEVER stepping my foot there or in any MIDAS location for that matter since this is a common practice that has not been dealt with for years! I am very UNHAPPY with their service and customer relationship. No courtesy whatsoever. Jarrod sitting over and talking to the front clerk yelled, Its a fail anyway! So unprofessional! This location is a RIP OFF! AVOID THEM BY ALL MEANS!

I’m writing this review much later, mainly to help someone else avoid going through what I did. This shop wasted 3–4 months of my time and kept my car sitting because they clearly do not understand right-hand-drive (RHD) vehicles or how to properly handle an out-of-province inspection. The inspection was done by technician Braden Henrie, and honestly, it was obvious from the start that he had no idea what to look for on an imported RHD vehicle. I was told my glass, headlights, and taillights were non-compliant with North American standards and that everything would need to be replaced. They were pushing a situation that would’ve cost me thousands of dollars, including talk of replacing perfectly good glass with parts from Japan. None of this made sense, especially since my vehicle had already been registered in Alberta with zero issues. Because it wasn’t adding up, I contacted SGI directly. An SGI inspector came in person, inspected my car, took photos, and literally had to explain to this shop that my vehicle was fine. What’s even worse is that their own paperwork later contradicts their original claims, stating: “As per Cliff from SGI, the glass will pass inspection. Found correct markings on head and tail light assemblies.” So after months of delays, it turns out the problem never actually existed in the first place. On top of all this, the shop constantly dragged their feet. Even after I sourced and installed the required front corner markers/reflectors for North American requirements (because I was trying to move things along myself), the delays continued. Every time I came back for updates or follow-ups, the staff’s attitude noticeably changed. It genuinely felt like they were getting moody and annoyed that I kept coming back—despite the fact that I was only there because of their mistakes. I would not recommend this Midas location for inspections or any type of work. If you need an out-of-province inspection, especially for an imported or RHD vehicle, go to a proper inspection-focused or fleet shop instead—places like Mainline Fleet Services, who actually understand the rules and deal with this type of inspection regularly. Save yourself the stress, time, and frustration. Avoid this place.

I took my car to Midas for some routine maintenance, and the service was generally reliable. The staff was friendly and got the job done without much hassle. However, the wait time was longer than I expected, and I felt the pricing could have been a bit clearer upfront. Overall, a decent experience if you need quick repairs, but there are definitely places that offer more transparency and speed.

My brother took his vehicle in and they took advantage of him. First, they called to tell him his ball joints needed to be replaced. He agreed. Second, they bent the control arm on his vehicle and told him he had to pay for it to be replaced and the labour for it. Shame on this company. I wouldn't trust them and taking advantage of young customers. HORRIBLE.

Horrible customer service. I bought a set of 37" ko2's from them and it rode perfect when I left. After 15000 km I came in for a rebalance and they said it was a waste of time and won't do anything. My truck was shaking like crazy and they didn't even want to take a look, just said it was the truck... So I went to another shop and they had a look and all the balance beads were stuck together inside the tire, causing it to shake madly. They put fresh beads in and it was perfect again. Meanwhile Midas wouldn't care to have a look at a $3200 set of tires. Shame on them and I will never be back, along with anyone else I know. Shame on you Midas
