After having to constantly inflate a flat tire, throughout the holidays, I finally found Garage Mario whom was able to take me in, the next day (Jan 2025), at 8am. I was well greeted and Mario even offered coffee. As I waited, we chit-chated, between clients and telephone calls (yes, they are quite busy).
I mentioned to him a weird ongoing noise, which 2 Toyota dealers and a personal friend who is a mechanic, were not able to identify. Once my valve got replaced, he showed me the issue and asked if I had time to wait to get it fixed. Of COURSE!!!!
Not only did I appreciate the service, his transparency, I mostly appreciate his value of doing a good job! Thank you!

I needed to have my clutch replaced on my 2015 Subaru Forester, but my regular mechanic could not do it (his clutch guy was on extended leave) and I have was having issues finding a garage or dealer to do it. I stopped by Garage Mario Barthold because it was close to me, had excellent ratings and was CAA recommended. Unfortunately, Mario (I think) told me that they couldn't do it in the near future either (the place was super busy). However, Mario went to his "big black book," identified a garage that he thought might be able to do and even tried calling them for me. He wasn't able to get a quick response for him and needed to deal with his customers, so he gave me the information and suggested I try the other garage. I did and they were able to do the job in 2 days at a price consistent with the quote I had gotten from my mechanic.
Long story, but I wanted to just acknowledge how awesome it was that Mario took the time to help me find a solution to my issue. This is truly exceptional service that I wish my regular mechanic had offered when he couldn't do the work. Thank you, Mario! I will be back again, next time I will plan better to get a spot!

My car was making some strange creaky noises. I brought it in to Mario and he checked it out and told me one of my ball joints was 60% used. He told me I could repair it now or wait a few months. I really appreciated the honesty.

visiting montreal just for the weekend and at about 4pm on friday, our car breaks down right at the border. we towed it here, arriving 15 min after they closed ~6:15. Mario was so incredibly friendly and helpful, looked at our engine even though the shop was closing and helped us determine this issue (broken coolant hose). he then suggested we take the car to a different shop nearby that was open on saturday—which was godsend and now the car is fixed! thank you so much for your generosity and goodwill. merci mille fois!
