Did not resolve the engine lite problem although ESC was removed as a result changing the spark plugs.Engine light flashing was not flashing when I brought it into shop. Failed to recommend not to drive the vehicle which would have caused a fire and damage more to the vehicle. Put my life in danger. Did not provide the codes on the testing before & after on the invoice until I had to request it from another mechanic shop. I shouldn't have to request the codes from the testing since it should automatically be provided on the invoice especially when i paid for the tests. Was informed that I needed to take it to car dealership for the carbon cleanup which is BS. Any mechanical shop can do it. Paid over 400 to change the plugs & 3 tests done. Still did not resolve the engine lite problem. I don't recommend taking your vehicle into St James auto service.

Worst experience ever at Canadian Tire St. James.
In December 2025, I ordered studded winter tires based on the sales rep’s recommendation and was charged for studding and installation. I was told the tires were in stock, but the earliest appointment was January 1, 2026.
On January 1, after waking up early on New Year’s Day and handing over my keys, I was told the tires could not be studded. This was entirely their mistake, yet there was no apology. Instead, I was pressured to accept a tire I did not want.
I had to reorder a different brand (Michelin), wait another week, and return on January 7. Despite confirming my appointment, I was later called and told the tires had not even arrived. I had to go back again just to retrieve my keys, wasting time and money.
Multiple trips, zero accountability, poor product knowledge, and terrible communication. This experience caused unnecessary stress and inconvenience.
Avoid this branch if you value your time.

I had the outmost best experience at the St James location. When I first made the appointment, I was greeted by 3 employees who were full of knowledge followed by amazing service from a gentleman named Ryan. I felt aweful for him when I came back to pick up my car and this lady was yelling at him for no reason. She was mean. He handled it well but I saw that he needed a little pick me up so as I approached the counter I gave him a big smile and praised him loudly for the service I received. People need to have a little patience sometimes and not take their frustrations out on others. Keep doing what you are doing Ryan. Ps I’m sending people your way.
I bought new tires and had them installed.

It is very disappointing to leave a negative review, but my recent experience with the Canadian Tire Automotive Service at the St. James location was unacceptable and deserves to be addressed. I contacted the store simply to request an update on my rim order. I remained polite and respectful throughout the call. Unfortunately, the employee I spoke with was rude, dismissive, and unprofessional.
The employee claimed he did not have access to check my order, which was clearly untrue, as other staff members were able to access and provide updates on my order during calls made over the previous two days. This inconsistency reflects either a lack of honesty or a lack of willingness to help. What made the situation worse was that the employee abruptly ended the call while I was still speaking, despite my calm and respectful tone.
This type of behavior reflects poorly on Canadian Tire as a company and undermines customer trust. Customer service should be helpful, honest, and respectful, especially when customers are simply asking for basic information. I would not recommend this location based on this experience and sincerely hope management addresses this issue by ensuring staff are properly trained and held to professional standards. Customers deserve better treatment.

Went in with my dad for an emergency tire repair, and the service was outstanding. Despite a language barrier, the advisor was extremely patient and helpful. Anmol gave us a clear timeline and went out of his way to get the job done quickly since we needed to get back on the road. We really appreciated the care and effort will definitely be coming back in the future.
